Let us know if the surface we’re reglazing has ever been refinished before. Depending on its condition, we might need to strip the old glaze off completely to get the bond you want. If we do have to refinish from scratch, there will be an additional fee to remove the old glazing. Your technician can make this call during their inspection. We’ll let you know ahead of time what that fee will be.
You'll get a confirmation email after scheduling your appointment. It will have the date, time, and address of your appointment. Make sure everything is correct to avoid any misunderstandings. Refinishing Your Bathroom Or Kitchen
We roll up our sleeves and get to work. For small jobs, like a bathtub or sink, we're usually done in 4 hours. Larger jobs take longer, but you'll know ahead of time how long to expect
Your refinishing technician will remove old paint and glazing from your surfaces. Then they’ll get rid of debris and loose caulking. Next, they’ll sand to remove dirt and small particles. After washing the surface thoroughly, we’ll fix paint chips, surface rust, and smooth out imperfections. Finally, we’ll clean and etch for the strongest bond possible and apply a reglazing compound.
Before we spray, we’ll put masking paper around anything that isn’t being resurfaced. We’ll also cover your doorways, so dust can’t get in and ruin your finish. It also keeps paint from escaping the area.
It takes two coats of primer and two to three coats of resurfacing compound. It’s a two-part epoxy, urethane-based material that’s tough and durable. If needed, we’ll recaulk areas that need a touch-up.
